Rosemary is actually a member of the mint family! It is very aromatic and has a strong flavour, which is why it is so popular for cooking. It is a wonderful herb and very effective for many ailments. It has a high essential oil content, which contains several antioxidants, one of which is called rosmarinic acid this has been shown to benefit inflammatory conditions by lowering the inflammatory response of the body.
Rosemary is also linked with improvement of memory, and can help reduce brain fog, this maybe because it is thought to stimulate blood flow to the brain. I use rosemary when I start to feel ill, at the onset of a cold it is marvellous at stopping it in its tracks!
