New Year thoughts

Happy New Year. Hope you all had a great time. Now what everyone is talking about is detox and diets and stopping smoking and drinking and sugar and dairy and anything and everything to make themselves feel full of life and health.

It is really hard to get back into the swing of it after having so much fun and having no routine for a few weeks. So I just want to say, don’t beat yourselves up. Having a good time, is good for the soul. It helps our health to let go once in a while, to really relax and de stress. In that same feeling, being really hard on yourself can cause a lot of stress and make you feel miserable.

If you are finding it hard, then do what I do, one new good thing a day. Doing the smallest thing will make you feel more positive. Make yourself a juice, go for a run, order a side salad instead of chips, eat some fish instead of steak, drink water instead of a glass of wine, drink herbal tea instead of a coffee, walk to work. There are so many little things we can do. It’s an overwhelming mountain to climb trying to clean up our acts in one go. Putting yourself under so much pressure is enough to send anyone over the edge!

Be kind and gentle with yourselves, if you do a new something for your health every day before long you will be feeling wonderful!
