Homemade Hummus

Chickpeas and tahini (sesame seed paste) are a great form of vegetable protein, garlic wonderful for everything, olive oil is a lovely oil and a good fat and lemon is wonderfully alkalizing… you can add all sorts to spice up your hummus, such as peppers, chillis, limes, coriander, cumin , the options are endless!  So it is down to personal taste as I have discovered but this is how I like it.   • 2 cups of chickpeas (you will need to soak overnight) but you could use 1 can if you prefer.
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic (depending how big they are)
  • juice of 2-3lemons
  • 3 tbsp of hummus
  • 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Himalayan crystal salt.


  • Put it all into your blender and whizz and its done!
