“FRIDAY NIGHT IN” TURKEY BURGERS…

Who needs to eat out, hey!

Organic turkey burgers make a lovely healthy alternative to your usual burger and this recipe is so yummy for a family Friday night at home, especially at the moment when we are eating in more and doing a lot more home cooking!

Serve in sourdough buns, wrapped in greens or on top of your salads. This recipe makes about 4-6.

You will need:

1lb of organic ground turkey (If your ground turkey has excess liquid, be sure to set on paper towels to remove the juices.)
1 medium size red onion peeled and minced
zest and of one lime and 2 teaspoon lime juice
2 Tablespoon chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 a teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Guacamole/hummus/salsa

Method:

1. Place turkey, herbs, spices and lime in bowl and use hands to mix well.

2. Form into four patties and lace pan on medium heat but be sure to add some olive oil/avocado oil to bottom of pan.

3. When pan is hot, place patties in pan and cook for about 5 minutes each side or until cooked through. Serve in buns or wraps, with crunchy greens, cucumber, red onions (whatever salad bits you have in your fridge are great!) and top with guacamole/hummus and juicy tomatoes. Melted organic cheese/vegan cheese is also an amazing addition if you are a cheesy person! This is where you can personalise your burger just the way you like it… The benefits of eating at home!
