Beautiful skin guide….

  • Reduce sugar intake and refined sugar products such as cakes and biscuits and the dreaded fizzy drinks.
  • Reduce alcohol (do try!)
  • Reduce processed and high fat foods.
  • Reduce dairy, it can contain a lot of hormones.
  • Be mindful if a certain food type sets off a bad skin episode, you may have an intolerance or a problem with your gut flora.
  • Increase your water intake 2litres a day minimum, herbal teas count towards your 2 litres a day if you prefer hot drinks! Try chamomile, rooibos, rosehip and ginger. Coconut water is super hydrating too! Using things like cucumber and celery in your diet are brill for skin, they are very hydrating and have silica in them which helps build healthy skin.
  • Support your liver. It usually needs your help… If it is toxic then your skin will be too. Eat/juice more beetroot, kale, celeriac, artichoke.
  • Increase your essential fatty acids, eat more oily fish they helps to regulate hormones and have a lot of zinc and selenium in that are great for skin!
  • Avocados are great.
  • Nuts and seeds are too!
  • Increase all vegetables and fruit in your diet especially orange coloured ones, like pumpkin, squash, carrots, apricots, melon, mango and red grapes… they all have beta carotene a form of vitamin A.
  • Berries and brightly coloured fruits have wonderful amounts of antioxidants that will help to clear the skin, they also have lots of vitamin C which is essential for the production of collagen. Things like pineapple help to reduce inflammation as does mango and papaya.. So get your fruits in!
