Sage contains volatile oils and like rosemary includes rosmarinic acid, which helps with brain function, brain sharpness and also acts as an antioxidant. It can be helpful for sore throats and horseness, try inhaling steam from sage infused hot water or drink it in a juice. It also acts as an antiseptic and can be helpful for stomach upsets.
I use it most in clinic for my pre menopausal women, sage tea is wonderful for night sweats and hot flushes, it also helps with fatigue and nervous exhaustion as well as immunity problems that can be part of the menopause. You can buy a tincture of sage, which is amazing for such symptoms, but sage leaves in cooking, making tea or adding them to juices will all help.
