12 Days Of December |Day 5 |Exercise

It’s December, and I am struggling to get out there too, it’s dark and so gloomy at the moment  but at least it isn’t absolutely freezing even though I prefer that and sun to these gray skies! Anyway I digress, I also know you probably have a million things going on! But if you can stay active and try and do some exercise it really will help relieve the stress this month can bring and should also help avoid the extra pounds people tend to have gained by the New Year. Shall we try to start 2016 without those old fave resolutions….. 1. Lose weight. 2. Do more exercise… etc etc.

I feel so much more positive when I have forced myself to get out there and do something… Classes can be a good option as they require less self motivation, you just need to get yourself there! Think of all those endorphins you will create, and the effect is that you will sleep better, feel like taking better care of yourself and feel better mentally too!

My trainer has put together a short but intense workout that can be done anywhere without equipment, it’ll only take 20 minutes of your time! – this is designed for all abilities and will keep you at a balanced level and enables you to to indulge but without the guilt! So do this as often as you can!

The 20 Minute Blast

Before you do this make sure to warm up by running on the spot, high knees, rotating the arms etc!

10 Star Jumps

30 Second Wall Sit

10 Push Ups

12 Lunges

5 Sits Ups

5 Mountain Climbers (as demonstrated to the left)

5 Burpees

10 Squats

10 Tricep Dips

Complete as many times as possible in 20 minutes without rest! DON’T forget to stretch afterwards! Let me know how you get on!
